Short Biography of Xing-Zhong
Xing-Zhong was born and grew up in Zhejiang, China. He obtained his Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Yongmin Liang at Lanzhou University in 2010, developing new synthetic methods for cyclization reactions by Au, Pt and Pd catalysis. He then moved to the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a post-doctor, working on rhodium-catalyzed [5 + 2] cycloadditions under the supervision of Prof. Weiping Tang. In the summer of 2012, he joined Professor F. Dean Toste’s group at the University of California-Berkeley as a post-doctoral researcher to study gold catalysis and transition-metal nanoparticle catalysis. In 2015, he moved back to China, and joined the faculty of State Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry at Lanzhou University. His team’s research is focusing on the development of new cross-electrophile reactions to address problems associated with conventional cross-coupling reactions.
